Sonic Reducer, Ain’t No Loser

Luckily, sometimes the internet takes us also to visit legendary places we cannot go at because of age reasons. An example is the website which allows us to visit the amazing New York’s club CBGB’s (Country, Blue Grass, and Blues), temple of the Big Apple ’70s punk, opened until 2006 but fallen into disfavor from a long time.
So, you can virtually go around the stage, the mixer, the bar and even the loo of this sewer (in the positive meaning) on 315 Bowery at Bleecker Street, where became famous (among the others) characters as The Ramones, Misfits, Television, the Patti Smith Group, Mink Deville, The Dead Boys, The Dictators, The Fleshtones, Richard Hell & The Voidoids, Blondie and Talking Heads, keeping all the hardcore out of here.
It seems that the founder and owner Hilly Kristal wasn’t so happy for the closedown, tells us Wikipedia, since he has been chased away by the Bowery Residents’ Committee (maybe a sort of local beat?); in fact, he already decided to open the club back in Las Vegas, city where he was from, and wanted to take with him also the urinals, maybe to sold it on Ebay. But he didn’t had the time to fulfill his projects at all, since he died in 2007.

Internet ogni tanto, per fortuna, ci porta a visitare anche luoghi mitici che per ragioni anagrafiche non siamo mai riusciti a vedere. Ne è un esempio il sito che permette di visitare il fantastico locale newyorkese CBGB’s (Country, Blue Grass, and Blues), tempio del punk anni ’70 della Grande Mela, attivo fino al 2006 anche se da tempo caduto in disgrazia.
Potete quindi aggirarvi virtualmente tra il palco, il mixer, il bar e i cessi di questa fogna (in senso buono naturalmente) al 315 Bowery di Bleecker Street, dove sono diventati famosi (tra gli altri), personaggi come Ramones, Misfits, Television, the Patti Smith Group, Mink Deville, The Dead Boys, The Dictators, The Fleshtones, Richard Hell & The Voidoids, Blondie e Talking Heads, tenendo fuori tutto l’hardcore.
A quanto pare il fondatore Hilly Kristal, come racconta Wikipedia, la chiusura non l’aveva proprio presa benissimo, cacciato dal comitato dei residenti (sarà una specie di ronda locale?) aveva infatti già deciso di riaprire a Las Vegas, sua città di origine, e voleva portarsi dietro perfino i cessi, magari per venderli su Ebay. Ma non ha fatto in tempo a realizzare i suoi progetti, perché è morto nel 2007.
